Refugee Community Teacher
The AE Teacher role at the Tushirikiane Development Organization (TUDO) is a critical position dedicated to providing quality, safe, and inclusive learning opportunities for overage, out-of-school children within refugee camps in Dadaab. Operating under the overall supervision of the Center Supervisor, the teacher is responsible for delivering the Accelerated Education (AE) curriculum in partnership with Save the Children International (SCI) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). This position requires a professional dedicated to both academic instruction and the holistic development of learners through guidance, counseling, and community mobilization within the IFO1, Ifo two, Hagadera, and DAGAHALEY camps.
- Teaching and preparation of relevant learning concepts and contents to carry out the training.
- Preparation and keeping of professional records of the work covered and students' evaluation records.
- Maintaining in good order and record, the training materials, tools, and equipment.
- Participating in co-curricular activities, maintaining trainee discipline as well as guidance and counseling of the trainees.
- Carry out mobilization and enrolment of learners into the program.
- Regularly updating the supervisor on the progress of the teaching and learning activities.
- Carrying out tests and exams on the program and share the results to the senior teacher.
- P1 or diploma in Early Childhood Development Education.
- KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of C (plain) and above.
- Must be a registered refugee with a UNHCR Ration Card and a resident of Dadaab camps.
