Who We Are
Together for Holistic Development
Since 2005, Tushirikiane Development Organisation has been at the forefront of empowering vulnerable communities through livelihood, education, health, and humanitarian response programs. Originally established as a community-based organization (CBO), we officially registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in November 2021. Our work extends across both host communities and refugee populations in Dadaab and beyond, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has access to opportunities that improve their quality of life. Through strategic partnerships and community-driven initiatives, we are dedicated to fostering resilience, sustainability, and inclusive growth. Join us as we work Together for Holistic Development—because real change happens when we collaborate.

Our Focus Areas
We focus on four key areas
We focus on four key areas—livelihoods, education, health, and humanitarian response—to address the needs of vulnerable communities and promote long-term development.
1. Livelihood Programs
We implement targeted livelihood initiatives that equip individuals with market-relevant skills, tools, and resources to foster self-reliance and economic independence. These programs include vocational training, small business support, and income-generating projects that enable participants to build sustainable livelihoods and break the cycle of poverty.
02. Health Initiatives
Access to quality healthcare is essential for community well-being. We promote preventive and curative health services through awareness campaigns, health camps, partnerships with health facilities, and capacity building for community health workers. Our health initiatives focus on maternal and child health, nutrition, hygiene promotion, and disease prevention.
3. Education Support
We believe education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for long-term transformation. Our education programs aim to increase access to quality learning for children and youth, especially in underserved and refugee communities. This includes school enrollment drives, provision of learning materials, teacher training, and infrastructure support to create conducive learning environments.
4. Humanitarian Response
In times of crisis, we act swiftly to provide emergency aid, protection, and recovery support to affected populations. Our humanitarian interventions include food and non-food item distribution, shelter support, psychosocial services, and disaster risk reduction. We strive to offer dignified and sustainable solutions that go beyond relief and support long-term recovery and resilience.
